General information about Sunny Beach
Sunny Beach is located at 42 km to the north of Bourgas and at 434 km to the east of Sofia. The resort occupies the territory between the resort settlement of Saint Vlas to the north and Nessebur to the south. It is located in a picturesque bay with view to the eastern slope of the Balkan Mountain. Its building up as a resort commenced in 1958.
Now Sunny Beach resort complex has about 120 hotels and lots of places for entertainment. The bigger part of the hotels is 4-star ones and have been fully renovated and modernized. A lot of excursions in the country and abroad are organized for the tourists. The list with the entertainments offered by the Black Sea Resort is long: surfing, water skis, yachts, tennis clubs, equestrian base, bowling, uncovered and covered swimming-pools, mini-golf, an aqua park and others.
There is a polyclinic here as well as a world of shops for foodstuffs, clothes, souvenirs. There is an entertainment train which travels from one end of the 10-kilometer beach strip to the other in the complex. There is regular bus from Nessebur and Bourgas. The vacation complex of Zora, the village of Saint Vlas and Elenite are located in its surroundings and Nessebur almost becomes one with the resort. The town of Pomorie is located at 8 km from Sunny Beach.
